From the Albuquerque Journal:

Ground will be officially broken Wednesday afternoon for the DeAnza Motor Lodge redevelopment project on Central Avenue.

City and county officials will be on hand at 1 p.m. to launch the long-awaited redevelopment effort, which has been in the works for years. Joining Mayor Richard J. Berry and Mayor-Elect Tim Keller will be city and county commissioners, the redevelopment team and dozens of business owners and residents from the Nob Hill area.

Practically everything now standing will be demolished and rebuilt as a hotel, apartments, a restaurant with rooftop seating, and office and retail spaces for lease, members of the development team said in July at an event in which they previewed renderings of the first phase of the project.
